Production of Christmas trees.

Production of Christmas trees is a long-term investment. It takes 7 years before the first trees can be cut down, and after that the majority of the trees will be ready during the 8th and 9th year. During the 10th year the remaining trees will be cleared up. Then, eventually, the last scrap trees will be crushed before roots are removed from the soil and new Christmas trees once again can be planted in the culture.

The first culture with Christmas trees was planted back in 1981. The first field culture was planted in 1989 where a more intensive production, including fertilization, basal pruning, shaping and growth regulation, took place.

In all the years until 2008 the entire production was exported to foreign countries through the local forest growers association. From 2008 onwards the greater part of the production has been sold to our local nursery, “Tantes Have”, and a smaller part in the yard on "Snoromgård".

Many get their Christmas tree wrapped in a net, so it is easier to transport it home.

Christmas trees are loaded and delivered to
“Tantes Have”. The trees are loosely loaded onto
old carts normally used for transportation of small
straw bales.

GPS is used for planting, hereby making sure
the trees are planted with an accuracy of only
2 centimetres.

This means that 10% more trees can be planted within a given area compared to traditional planting.
