Hunting on ”Snoromgård".

 

The first hunting day in Firemansskoven on a beautiful autumn day, with 1 roe dear in the bag.

 

In the morning on the 16th of May 2014 three bucks
were shot by Henrik Holmgaard Kring –
“Højen Storgård”, Niels Bojer Jørgensen –
Fredericia and Søren Clementin Hansen –
“Herslevgård” respectively.

 

According to tradition a crowd of buck hunters are gathered at a “buck boasts meeting” af the hunt.

In Denmark the buck hunting season begins on
the 16th of May at sunrise and lasts until sunset on
the 15th of July every year.

 

Coffee, rolls and bitters are served at 9 o’clock in the morning for an invited circle of bucks hunters.

Three bucks were shot that morning. They were
shot by Kim Jørgensen, “Sønderbygård”, Fredericia,
and Martin and Søren Riis Jakobsen, “Lundsgaard”,
Røjle, respectively.

 

Here is the result of one weekend spent hunting bucks
on the 28th and 29th of May 2011 at “Hyllersgård”,
Kongsted, and “Engeskovgård”, Tiufkær, respectively.

A pronghorn and a “returnbuk”, or “murderbuk”, as it is also called. Notice the grey hair on the head of the buck. That tells you that it is an old buck.
